Fashion Week

Fashion week is the most anticipated event of the year for any true fashionista. Christmas? Eh. Thanksgiving? Blah. Beyoncé concert? Okay … that’s almost equally as exciting, but what is a day of pumpkin-flavored baked goods when you can have a week of innovation and couture? Designers work all year to provide their eager audience with delicious new styles, and last week they did not disappoint. The Spring/Summer 2015 New York Fashion Week brought it. Even though few are lucky enough to actually attend the shows, complain about their aching feet (obviously aching due to the heels they’ve been strutting around New York in for a week), and instagram live footage five feet from the runway, the age of technology and social media makes it possible, dare I say easy, for you to act like you were actually there taking #selfies with all of your favorite looks.

Fashion Week definitely inspired me to dress for Spring, but why wait until then to feel inspired? After drooling over the trends forecasted at Fashion Week, I decided to revisit the styles that will be everywhere this fall. Here at Red Dress, oxblood and boho are completing every outfit for autumn.

Oxblood shoes, oxblood tanks, oxblood jewelry- we do not care what it is as long as we can buy it in this beautiful deep red. Oxblood has the power to make virtually any outfit chic and classy, not to mention it can act as a great neutral. Don’t be afraid to try oxblood with navy, black, or grey, and definitely try it out with leopard (see the oxblood ring with leopard bag … omg, yes.)

Grab your favorite booties, fringed bag, and tunic, and you are well on your way to joining fashionistas everywhere dressing with boho-flair. Fall is the perfect time to layer vests over dresses and tunics over tights, so take advantage of this style and dress not just in the name of fashion, but also comfort. Who doesn’t love to wrap their legs in cozy knit tights or throw on a sweater vest over a loose tank dress?!

I know I will be sporting our “Could Not Ask For More,” maxi and “Strutting on 7th Ave. Heels,” until it’s time to take note of the newly released Spring/Summer 2015 trends!

Much love,

Sarah Dotson
